The sand is to the east of the Inatel building, which was originally a factory belonging to a German family, was given the name of Alemães (Germans). When Inatel converted the factory into a tourist complex the stretch of sand to the west of the building took its name and the rest of the beach kept the old name. Praia dos Alemães has a more natural feel than the beaches to the west. There is less urbanisation, but no shortage of facilities. There is parking nearby, with restaurants and toilets on the beach, which is supervised during the bathing season.
