The beach of Vale dos Homens is a true oasis of calm and beauty. Closed off to both the north and south by tall cliffs, this beach is off the main tourist routes and an excellent choice for those preferring a little quiet and isolation. Used by naturists, it is also popular among surfers due to the regular incidence of strong waves. Although lacking in the amenities and facilities of other beaches, this tranquil spot has a charm that draws visitors back again and again. The beach has a lifeguard on duty throughout the official bathing season.
