This small beach is east of Ponta do Altar and is notable for the cliffs which rise up at either end, dropping down in the middle to form a beautiful valley. On the horizon is the Leixão da Gaivota, a protected area for birds. It is used as a nesting place by egrets, which is rare as this these birds normally nest in trees on dry land. Access to Praia do Vale da Azinhaga is either by boat or on foot from Praia dos Caneiros at low tide. The beach has no support facilities and is not supervised.
