This beach lies immediately to the west of Ponta do Altar, a narrow and elongated promontory which is home to a lighthouse. On the cliff at the beach’s northern end is a gallery that forms two magnificent arches. From Praia do Pintadinho it is possible to see the mouth of the River Arade with the city of Portimão in the background. Access to the beach is via a tarmac road from Ferragudo. There is a large parking area near the beach, which has restaurants and toilets and is supervised during the bathing season.
