Praia do Galés is part of a huge sandy beach generally known as Malhão Beach. Each individual beach has differing points of access and characteristics. Falling within the protected beauty of the Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina Natural Park, Praia do Galés attracts surfers and body boarders due to the impressive waves of sometimes quite rough seas. The beach is rarely crowded. The average seawater temperature in summer is 17-18ºC. There is ample parking and the beach is supervised.
