Praia do Cruz is part of a huge sandy beach generally known as Malhão Beach. Each individual beach has its own point of access and unique characteristics. Falling within the protected beauty of the Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina Natural Park, Praia do Cruz attracts surfers and body boarders due to the impressive waves of sometimes quite rough seas. The beach is rarely crowded. The average seawater temperature in summer is 17-18ºC. There is ample parking and the beach is supervised.
