Praia do Carvalhal is just a few kilometres from Zambujeira do Mar and is a popular summer favourite. Part of the Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina Natural Park, a beautifully preserved natural environment, this broad each is not particularly long and ends in steep cliffs. Its regularly strong waves have attracted a following among surfers and body boarders. The average seawater temperature in summer is 17-18 ºC. The beach has facilities for disabled visitors and plentiful parking.
