Contained within the village of Burgau, this beach marks the western border of the Costa Vicentina Natural Park. Nestling in a small cove, sheltered from the elements, many of the traditional fishing arts are still practised. Visitors watch the boats returning to the beach and then go to one of the local restaurants and sample some of the octopus, moray or white sea bream that the fishermen have caught. On the cliffs are a 17th-century fort and the ruins of a 16th-century tower. There is parking available and the beach has restaurants and toilets. It is supervised during the bathing season.
