Brejão Beach is also known as Amália’s Beach after the famous fado singer, Amália Rodrigues, who used to spend long vacations here. It forms part of the Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina Natural Park and is a site of great natural beauty. The beach has a small port with fishing boats, which may be hired to get out to the best spots for underwater fishing. This is one of the best areas for diving and a particularly good spot is the first bay to the north. The average seawater temperature in summer is 17-18 ºC and the beach is unsupervised.
