This most westerly of the southwards facing beaches nestles in the beautiful wide cove formed by the headlands of Ponta de Sagres and Cape St. Vincent. It is a particular favourite of surfers and body boarders due to the excellent waves. Competitions are regularly staged here. The beach is reached by climbing down a long set of stone steps, so is not suited for anyone with a disability. On the beach are jagged and sculpted rocks forming curious shapes. There is parking on the headland and the beach has a restaurant and toilets nearby. It is supervised during the bathing season.
