The Praia do Amado is considered to be one of Portugal’s best surfing beaches. Surfing enthusiasts flock from all over Europe and Amado beach frequently plays host to international competitions. However, it is not just the more experienced out on the water; there are surfing schools for those wishing to take lessons. Very popular during the summer months, Amado Beach contains all the support infrastructures necessary for holidaymakers of all descriptions, not just those addicted to surfing. With average summer seawater temperatures of 17-18 ºC, parking, facilities for disabled, restaurants and toilets, the beach provides something for everyone.
