Praia de Cabanas Velhas is a small and welcoming beach, which stretches eastwards with some peculiar rock formations at either end. This is partly a shingle beach, which is used by visitors to build windbreaks. The beach is not greatly used by bathers, although the pontoon at the eastern end is very popular with anglers. There is lots of car parking space. The beach has a restaurant and toilets and is supervised during the bathing season. Classified as an accessible beach, it faces south.
