Zambujeira do Mar Beach is surrounded by tall cliffs that offer wonderful panoramic views. The frequently strong waves breaking on this beach provide quality conditions for surfing and body boarding. An ever-popular summer destination, the region attracts large crowds of concert goers on the 1st weekend of August for the annual Sudoeste Rock Festival, one of the largest of its type in Portugal. The beach has facilities for disabled visitors, restaurants, parking, bars and showers. It is supervised during the bathing season and the sea has an average temperature in summer of 17-18 ºC.
