Known locally as "Praia dos Tomates" (Tomato Beach) because of the plants growing nearby, Rocha Baixinha Beach is at the eastern end of the long Falésia Beach and a favourite of some of Portugal’s politicians. Close to the Vilamoura Marina, it has consistently achieved Blue Flag statuw and in 2003 gained the ISO 14001 environmental certification of quality. The beach has easy access to parking, restaurants, toilets, facilities for disabled, sunshade rental, showers, windsurfing, small craft hire and is supervised during the bathing season, with average summer seawater temperature of 20-23 ºC
