Next to the Santo André Lagoon is a long stretch of sand with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the calm waters of the lagoon on the other. Surrounded by golden dunes, this beach with its challenging waters is very popular among surfers. Those preferring much calmer waters can turn to face the Lagoon with its excellent windsurfing and canoeing conditions. This is an EEC Blue Flag with an average seawater temperature in summer of 17-18 ºC. It has facilities for disabled visitors, sunshade rental, showers and small craft hire. The beach is supervised, has good parking, bars and restaurants.
