Located on the southern side of the Tróia Peninsula, the huge sandy extent of Comporta Beach has good means of access. Forming part of the Sado Estuary Nature Reserve, Comporta Beach has been well preserved with the original dune vegetation surviving along with the adjoining pine forest. The sea is lively providing excellent conditions for kite surfing, and competitions are frequently held here. This is an EEC Blue Flag beach with average summer seawater temperature of 17-19 ºC. There are facilities for disabled, bars, restaurants, parking, sunshade rental and showers. The beach is supervised during the bathing season.
