To the north of the Forte de São João do Arade is the sandy Praia da Angrinha, whose shape changes in accordance with the stream that flows into the river there. This is a small beach situated at the foot of Ferragudo on the eastern bank of the River Arade. Ferragudo is a traditional fishing town, gracing the hill in a series of white terraces. There are footpaths from Ferragudo to Praia da Angrinha. This beach is not supervised. There is a parking area close to Praia da Angrinha and support facilities are available at neighbouring Praia Grande.
