The Aberta Nova Beach is considered one of the best beaches in the area, with beautiful sand dunes giving way to a pine forest, the original natural habitat of this region. Access to the beach is gained via a wooden walkway through the dunes, which is reached via a track running around the Melides lagoon. This is an EEC Blue Flag beach with facilities for tourists such as bars and parking. The beach is supervised during the bathing season and the average summer seawater temperature is 17-18 ºC.
