Located 6 km southwest of Lourinhã, the beautiful Porto Dinheiro Beach is sheltered by surrounding cliffs, which contain dinosaur footprints dating back to the Jurassic era. Near a fishing village noted for its good restaurants, the beach is suitable for surfing and body boarding. It is busy in August, during the annual Festival of the Sea with its traditional bull race. This is an EEC blue flag beach, with lifeguards on duty in season and facilities for the disabled. The average seawater temperature in summer is 17-18 ºC. There are cafes, bars and restaurants, umbrellas can be hired and parking is available.
