The circuit of Portalegre is one of the oldest of the country and was built by the City hall of Portalegre. However, in the summer of 2000, after a long period of inactivity, the circuit was sold to a private company who upgraded the facilities. The complex now includes 25 karts with Honda 200 cm3 motors. These are available to hire, but are also used for tournaments. There is a control tower with a timing system of AMB TRANX 160, that allows for sophisticated reading of times, turn by turn or race.
