Located east of Tamariz beach in São João do Estoril and close to the Velho Fort, the long narrow stretch of sand between two cliffs is Poça Beach; access is good from both the Avenida Marginal and the car park. The beach has EEC blue flag status, lifeguards are on duty in season and the average summer seawater temperature is 17-19 ºC. There are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants and umbrellas can be hired.
