The Planetarium is situated about 7 kilometres from of the beautiful town of Tavira. Housed in a traditional converted country house, which dates from 1885, and set in 3 acres of orchard land with surrounding gardens, it commands exceptional views across the Algarve countryside. The telescopes are on the highest part of the land at an altitude of 400 feet above sea level. In addition to the Planetarium, the centre offers an introduction to astronomy, night observations, megalithic astronomy, astrophotography and hands on science activities.
