Two very different museums are housed in the same building. The PiusXII museum has a collection of Palaeolithic, Neolithic and Bronze age implements and Pre-historic and Luso- Roman pottery. There is also a peristyle of a Roman villa in its original location. The Medina Museum was inaugurated in 1984 and houses 83 oil paintings and 21 drawings of the Portuguese portrait painter Henrique Medina (1901-1985) donated by the artist. Apart from portraits, there are also examples of his still life and landscape work.
