Pico do Carvao is a peak that provides outstanding views of the sea and the centre of the island, and dominates the northern and southern coasts. It is located parallel to the island’s narrowest point and the views reach as far as the town of Ribeira Grande on the north coast. In the immediate surroundings you can see the beautiful lakes of Carvão, Canário and Rasa, surrounded by lush green vegetation, including Japanese cedars and tree ferns. Enjoy the silence and the splendour of the scenery all around you.
