Located in the centre of town and lying south of the jetty, this beach is sheltered by from the local winds by the 40 metre high promenade. There is a beach bar/café and many bars and restaurants on the promenade, many of these specialise in shellfish. As suggested by the name, the beach is used by fishermen and also known as Peixe (Fish) Beach. Lifeguards are on duty in season and conditions are suitable for surfing, body boarding and diving. The average summer seawater temperature is 17-18 ºC, there are facilities for the disabled, umbrellas can be hired and parking is available.
