Located about 3.5 km west of Lourinhã and sheltered by high cliffs, the broad, pretty Peralta Beach is ideal for long walks. The strong waves create ideal conditions for surfing and body boarding and the ocean, rich in sea bream and local catfish, attracts fishermen. Fossils dating back to the Jurassic era have been discovered on the cliffs. Life guards are on duty in season, parking is available and there are bars, cafes and restaurants. The average seawater temperature in summer is 17-18 ºC.
