The Palheiro Golf Course offers fabulous views over Funchal Bay and the Ilhas Desertas and is located close to the Palheiro Gardens. This 18 hole par 72 course measures 6,086 metres and was inaugurated in 1994. It was designed by Cabell Robinson and uses the peaks and valleys of the natural landscape to provide an exciting challenge. Facilities include a driving range, putting green, chipping area with bunkers and a pro shop. Clubs, electric and hand trolleys and buggies can be hired. There is a beautiful clubhouse with breathtaking panoramic views over Funchal and a superb restaurant.
