Paimogo Beach is located approximately 7 km northwest of Lourinhã and north of Areia Branca Beach. It is in a bay surrounded by imposing high cliffs and overlooked by Paimogo Fort (see separate entry). Popular with anglers and suitable for all types of fishing and underwater exploration, it is also sought after by surfers and windsurfers and is a haven for small visiting boats. At low tide old fish ponds are exposed and it was on this beach, in 1933, that a large nest of dinosaur eggs was found containing embryos, these are now at the Lourinhã Museum (see separate entry).
