The Ermida de Nossa Senhora da Vitória (Our Lady of Vitória) was built on the orders of the Prince Regent D. Pedro II. It was dedicated to the Souls in Purgatory, in memory of the soldiers who lost their lives during the battle of Montes Claros. The church is quaint and worth visiting for its location. It stands on a high point overlooking the Serra da Ossa and the marble quarries. From its vantage point it provides stunning views over the whole of the surrounding region.
