The Hermitage of Our Lady of Silence is situated at the top of a steep street in Ribeirra Seca. Although not an easy church to visit for this reason, it is worth making the effort to reach the chapel. Constructed with local stone and painted white, the cornices and frames are picked out in traditional style. The main altar has an outstanding retable, and the side chapels are very ornate. The hermitage contains some valuable religious artwork and statuary.
