Located approximately 52 km northwest of Castelo Branco, in a region generally known as the Pinhal, the town of Oleiros is an ideal place for a rest. The Parish Church dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Conceição was constructed over the period 1532-1715 and has a number of interesting features. The Misericórdia Church was built in the 16th century, rebuilt in the 18th century and has an abundance of gilt carved woodwork. The Cova da Moura Castle is nearby, as are the Cabril Dam and the picturesque villages of Álvaro and Estreito, the latter with its 400 year old schist houses.
