Tait House contains one of the most complete and important numismatic collections in Portugal and plays an important role in the study of Greek, Roman, Hispanic, Arab and Portuguese coins. The collection was donated by António de Almeida. Tait house, which is now the property of the Porto City Council, was the home of a British citizen William Tait, a wine trader, who lived here from 1900. He was also the author of ‘The Birds of Portugal’. It is an attractive building set in beautiful landscaped gardens.
