The Chapel of Our Lady of the Victory and Souls is next to the Military Museum on the northeast side of the National Forest of Buçaco. The chapel was used as a field hospital by the Barefoot Carmelite Monks during the Battle of Buçaco (1810), when they treated the wounded of both sides. The chapel was rebuilt in 1876, but fell into a bad state of repair until restored by the Mealhada Municipal council in 1959. The chapel has a marble altar, paintings and sculptures from the 18th century and the primitive paintings of St Miguel and the Souls.
