The Parque Natural do Vale do Guadiana, located in the valley of the River Guadiana and winding its way through narrow riverbanks dotted with watermills, offers magnificent scenery. On the northern border, in a place of exceptional natural beauty, is the waterfall in Pulo do Lobo (Wolf’s leap). Tourists can visit the protected area and enjoy its beauty by following the various pedestrian trails. Another way of viewing the area is to descend the Guadiana in a canoe. The Park’s symbol, a bird of prey as represented in a sixth century Islamic dish, was inspired by the history of the region.
