The Musical Archive Museum holds a valuable musical archive made up of a large number of pieces from the ancient school of music. Many of them originating in the Ducal chapel of the 8th Duke of Braganza, Duke D. João II (John II), who later became King D. João IV (John IV). He was known to be an extraordinary composer. This archive also possesses a rare collection of opera librettos from the 18th and 19th centuries. For any lover of classical music this museum is not to be missed.
