The Sacred Art Museum is housed in the Cathedral’s ancient and elegant chapterhouse, which is decorated in 18th century style with tiled azulejo panelled walls, depicting hunting and battle scenes. Items on display of particular interest include two golden, enamelled copper 18th century Limoges chests, an ivory wafer box dating from the end of the 15th century, a 12th century Gospel, two 17th century gold and silver chalices, an illuminated manuscript on parchment dating from the 13th or 14th century. Noteworthy sculptures include a 16th century statue of Queen Santa Isabel.
