The Museu Municipal de Arqueologia is housed in two rooms of the former governor’s residence. The building dates back to the 14th century and abuts the city wall. The collection of archaeological finds is wide and varied, dating from the prehistoric period to the Middle-Ages. The exhibits include important objects from the Roman, Romano-Visigoth and Islamic periods, as well as a number of pieces from the 14th to the 17th century. It also houses ethnographic and industrial objects from the municipality. The commander’s residence is also home to the Municipal Historical Archive.
