From the Monte de Nossa Senhora da Ajuda visitors have a panoramic view over the town of Santa Cruz da Graciosa, not only of the village and the north side of the island, covered by vineyards, but also over the vast prairie of Guadalupe. This is one of the best viewpoints on the island and should not be missed. On the mountain are three churches built on the highest points of the hill, dedicated to Sao Joćo, Sao Salvador and Nossa Senhora da Ajuda. All three chapels are open to visitors.
