Next to the village of Meco, 9 km northwest of Sesimbra, is the naturist beach also known as Moinho de Baixo Beach. One of the first to be established and signposted for naturism, the authorised area stretches from Tramagueira Beach to Rio da Prata Beach. The sea is often quite rough and provides suitable conditions for surfing, windsurfing and body boarding. This is an EEC blue flag beach with lifeguards in season, facilities for the disabled and an average summer seawater temperature of 17-19 ºC. Umbrellas can be hired and there are parking, bar and restaurant facilities.
