Housed in an interesting 1920s building, the Modern Art Museum, which opened in 1987, contains part of the fabulous collection of millionaire Joe Berardo, representing European and American art since the beginning of the 20th century. Apart from works by Andy Warhol, Pollock, Francis Bacon, Miró Lichenstein and Picasso, the museum also stages temporary themed exhibitions and has created a space called New Gallery to exhibit the work of young artists. In celebration of the sixty years since the extinction of Nazi concentration camps, an important historical show entitled “Forgotten Generation Erich Kahn, Jewish Survivor, German Expressionist” was staged.
