The Miradouro do Facho is like a balcony over the city, where you can see the long beach of Praia bay as well as the busy life going on at the docking and fishing harbours. The name translates as viewpoint of the torch and it gained its name from the time of the Portuguese Maritime Discoveries. Situated on the top of a mountain, the area was lit by a giant torch to function as a lighthouse. It offers magnificent views, which really should not be missed.
