Located 10 km north of Porto are the Zoological Gardens of Maia, which is an ideal place for a family visit. There is a picnic park and a children’s play park, the pavilion of seals, including a performance which never seems to amaze the audience, and the garden of reptiles. In all, there are over 300 different animal and bird species from around the world. The train is an attraction for children and there are restaurant and café facilities.
