The small resort of Magoito is situated 12 km northwest of Sintra. Its iodine rich, pollution free beach, is enclosed by majestic cliffs and is at the bottom of a steep slope. The strong waves make good conditions for surfing, body boarding and wind surfing and there are plenty of restaurants bars and cafes. This is an EEC blue flag beach with lifeguards on duty during the season and an average seawater temperature in summer of 17-18 ºC. Parking is available and umbrellas can be hired.
