The Leonel Trinidade Museum, also known as the Municipal Museum, is housed in the 16th century former Convento da Graça. There is an important section devoted to the Lines of Torre Vedras and the Peninsular Wars and another to sacred art, which includes a Retabulo da Vida da Virgem from the 15th century Flemish school and a beautiful ivory sculpture of Christ the Good Shepherd. The museum also has one of the largest collections of medieval tombstones in Portugal and many archaeological finds including pre-historic jewellery.
