Sao Sebastiao, Terceira - Portugal

Lagoa do Negro and Lagoa do Ginjal are small tranquil lakes about two kilometres southwest Sao Sebastiao on the road from Praia to Angra. This is an area often overlooked by tourists, but one that charms visitors because of the calm and beauty of the surrounding countryside. It is certainly worth a detour if you are driving through the region. The lakes are home to ducks, waders and terns. The lakes are signposted from the road. Follow the small turn off road southeast for about 1 km to the lakes.
