Lake Caiado is located close to a large misterio. A misterio is a lava bed. This particular misterio, resulting from an eruption in 1572, is covered with trees, in the centre of which is Lake Caiado. This lake, as with most lakes in the mountains, is home to ducks and waders. This area is one of great natural beauty and shouldn’t be missed by any visitors seeking peace and tranquillity. The trails through the woods and across the misterio give access to views of outstanding beauty.
