From Ponta da Piedade the views of clear blue water and the Algarve coastline are exceptional. You can see as far as Sagres in the west and Albufeira in the east. Over the years the cliffs have eroded and formed spectacular caves and arches, which are best seen from a boat. Boat trips are available in season from the bottom of the steps on the point next to the lighthouse. The cliffs are a magnet for walkers, especially from January onwards when a fantastic display of wild flowers cover the area.
