The Jardim Largo do Infante is one of the places that visitors really shouldn’t miss on a visit to the city of Horta. Along the garden’s central path is a sculpture that pays homage to Prince Henry the Navigator, reminding us of his role in the history of the Portuguese Discoveries. Amongst the species that are to be found in the garden are four magnificent Canary palms, some New Zealand Christmas trees and some tamarisks. It is extremely popular amongst the local population, particularly on summer nights. One of its greatest attractions is its view over the Marina and out towards the island of Pico.
