Housed in the prize winning Pavilion of Knowledge of the Seas building designed by J.L. Carrilho da Graça, the objective of the museum is to stimulate public interest in science and technology. Opened in 1999 after Expo 98, it covers a wide range of themes which can be explored with interactive exhibits and provides an interesting and rewarding experience for both adults and children. During Expo 98 this pavilion was one of the most popular centres.
