Opposite the harbour of Praia lies the Ilhéu da Praia, one of the numerous tiny islets surrounding the island’s shores. Home to many birds’ species, these islets have become protected nature reserves. Rising from the ocean, these isles are one of the charms of Graciosa. Ilhéu da Praia, covered by vegetation, deserves a visit. Covered with vegetation, it is a nesting zone for migratory birds. If you don’t want to visit the island you can watch for birds from the shore in the northern part of Praia or from the pier in the harbour.
